Overview

Most of the images provided show waste containers that are not in good condition, which would appropriately be cited under this checklist item.

Q: There is one exception. Do you know which one it is?

A: Exhibit A- it has a broken lid, otherwise the container is in good condition. This would actually be cited under WAS03, Collection containers are not closed. We’ll discuss this next.

Container condition concerns are often identified for very old unused chemicals which are likely stored or accumulated in lieu of being disposed (Exhibit B-E) The regulatory implications of storage in lieu of disposal will be discussed later in this presentation.

A bulging container (Exhibit F) could represent a very dangerous situation. If a bulging container is identified, report it to a Senior Specialist immediately. Do not touch compromised containers.
