Overview
- Note lighter construction
- Gas is a liquid under pressure
- Flammable
- Propane
- Butane
- Non-flammable
- Freons (aka Refrigerants)
- Some Freons may be flammable but are not common
Cylinders containing liquified gases are for chemicals that are relatively easily liquifed by the application of pressure. Propane is the most common chemical in this group. In general, these cylinders are of lighter construction than cylinders containing compressed gases. These cylinders can also vary widely in shape. The green cylinder shown above is for a class of chemicals called freons. Freons are used most often as refrigerants, and most are not flammable and are relatively non-toxic.
