Overview
The integrity of one or more building systems (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing) has been compromised.
Room occupants or their associated departmental techs are not allowed to tap into the building system’s electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems. BSM should be contacted for all of this work to make sure that it doesn’t interfere with other portions of the system and the work is done to code standards. The auditor should not be looking for specific code violations but rather referring noted items on to the Senior Specialist. Examples of this would be running exhaust hoses up into the general room exhaust, tapping into or installing their own water faucets, sinks or washers and exhausted dryers, changing light fixtures or changing breakers within an electrical panel.
