- Required of all “BIO” labs
- Contains information specifically about bio projects, risks, etc.:
- Table of Contents (TOC) Form
- Current IBC protocol, agent risk assessment, hazard summary
- Worker training records
- BBP Declination Form (as applicable)
- SOPs that are indicated as hard copy in the TOC
The biosafety manual is separate from the Virtual Manual, although parts of the Virtual Manual can be used to create the Biosafety Manual. The Biosafety Manual will take many forms depending on the lab, but in general the information contained within should be concise and specific to the work conducted by the PI in their laboratory. It will generally consist of the items listed. To facilitate creation of a biosafety manual and allow for various methods of accessing the content (e.g., hard copy, electronic, etc.), EHS developed a biosafety manual table of contents form.
